I think that there will certainly be some listing changes to those old ‘authority’ sites that has hogged the top for so long. Also for ‘heavy’ pages that are full of naff flash intros. IMHO I just wish they would fully release it and let us see where they are going.

I wanted to add somethign onto this article as a side note. With the introduction of the Google Live Search I honestly believe that we are going to see an even greater importnace on developing strategic social media campaigns.

This links to SEO in the sense that our social media marketing efforts may very well be searchable in google very soon.

Social media strategies aid website owners in fast indexing and traffic driving opportunities.

The ‘Content is King’ aspect could not be stressed enough!!

Conversation is king but in order to start talking you need quality content to talk about, so yes, content is still king even though some social media experts believes otherwise.

Good article. I would like to add another point. Website speed! 2010 is going to be the year of “fast websites”. Google will rank websites according the speed of a webpage. It won’t be the main factor but G will consider it while ranking. So working on reducing http requests, creating image sprites and moving javascript files to the footer will definitely help making your website faster. We have recently worked heavily on making the website faster and right now my website is loading pages within 5 seconds.

Also, Anton’s point is really good. G seems to delay indexing new pages. I see G indexing our new posts/pages atleast from 1 month to 2 months. Social Networking brings the G bot to your new articles pretty fast.

Great article. Most of my content on my site and blog is directly linked into social media channels. The fastest time I had a page indexed was 33 minutes through social media. That means the URL is indexed but not necessarily the content with keywords.

In the past I remember waiting for days if not weeks to get sites indexed but it has changed with Web 2.0.

Nice article Meg, explained like a pro. We must be sure that there are no no-follows on our links from the SB sites. Digg has started to no-follow their links so no link love there. You also only really get the good link juice if you make it to the front page.
