Verify Your Pinterest Account

Monday, November 5th, 2012

On the 25th of October 2012 Pinterest announced the launch of a new feature that allows users to verify their accounts, and the good news is that it’s really easy to do too.

How to verify your Pinterest account

  1. Visit “Settings”
  2. Click on the “Verify Website”

You will then be directed to the following page: (This is what I saw while verifying Talooma)

If 1 and 2 in the above picture are too tricky for you to do, get hold of  your company computer go-to guy to assist you.

Currently Pinterest only supports top-level domains but they are working on supporting more options in the future.

When your website is verified ,  people will see a checkmark next to your registered domain (e.g. next to in search results.

Pinterest has always been open to asking for help from the community and even have a “Top Ideas and Featured Requests” option on their support site, where users can provide suggestions and improvements they would like to see on the site. This is a feature that neither Facebook nor Twitter can say they have – Pinterest has asked fellow pinners for any suggestions for different way to verify accounts.  This definitely means that the process will become more user friendly in the future. It’s great to see a social network making use of crowd sourcing to improve their service and their offering for the long run.  Nice one, Pinterest!

Talooma’s 67 minutes for Mandela Day

Monday, July 18th, 2011

Talooma visited the Ann Harding Cheshire Home to give 67 minutes for Mandela Day. Dressed up like Hippies (in celebration of our own “Hippie Day”) we spent time with some of the patients and were given an exclusive tour around the home.

Over the last few weeks we have been collecting clothing of all sorts which we planned to hand out on Mandela Day. The clothing was certainly appreciated with open arms when we arrived, (and so were our Hippie outfits.) Everyone at the home, although confused at first, seemed to take a liking to our 60’s dress sense and Mandela Day spirit and certainly had a giggle or two at us.

Located in Northwold, Randburg, the Anne Harding home was founded 30 years ago. Homing people with disabilities caused by various incidents, the home offers a bright, cheerful environment to all its residents. The well kept facilities provide various activities for patients to get involved in, with some playing solitaire, some making beaded jewelry and some just soaking up the warmth of the winter sun in the manicured gardens.

Everyone at Talooma is honored to have been given the opportunity to give their 67 minutes for Mandela Day to such a caring establishment.

Should you want to donate or give some of your time to the Ann Harding Cheshire Home during anytime of the year, call 011 792 3510/ 1 or email

Talooma revealed to clients at the “Yellow Launch”

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

Over the last few months, there has been much stress, panic, fun and games revolving around our “Yellow Launch.”  After sending out teaser mailers and invitations to all our clients and preparing for one of the biggest and most exciting moments in JD Internet Consulting’s history, we are proud to announce that we have refreshed and recreated our brand. The unveiling of “Talooma”, which is our new name, created much hype and excitement amongst our clients and especially the hard working staff at Talooma. Over the last few months, there has been much dedication to hard work, brain power and creativity that has gone into launching our rebranded company.

The name “Talooma” originates from the Swahili term for “professionalism.”  After much debate and research it was decided that yellow and grey would represent the new brand. The fresh, original approach is carried throughout our logo, website and within the company as a whole.

The launch, which was hosted at The Business Centre in Fourways, was a great success.  We asked all our guests to bring a yellow colored gift for the SPCA. We received an  impressive collection of donations which will be going to the SPCA in Nigel.

With almost all of our clients at the event, there was much mingling, eating and fun to partake in. The evening  begun with snacks and drinks outside and later moved indoors so that our guest speakers could reveal what the “Yellow Launch” was all about. This was long awaited as all of our clients were in the dark with regards to what the launch involved.

When our new name “Talooma” was introduced to the guests, the Talooma team threw streamers and decorations into the crowd. The banner was unveiled and Talooma was born. This very exciting moment was certainly well earned by the new Talooma team.

We at Talooma look forward to working with our clients and taking on new challenges within the world of the internet. We thank all our clients who attended the “Yellow Launch” and for all the support over the years.

Talooma’s new website is something we are all very proud of. We feel that it not only represents our rebranded company perfectly but also each one of us at Talooma. Check it out,
